Approach

The Church Benchmark Project specializes in helping ministries at the various connectional levels understand the drivers to success and growth of vital churches and congregations.  There are a number of studies that the Church Benchmark Project has conducted and a number of simulation models that have been developed to help understand the past, define the present and discern the future.  Among the studies are, the National Projection Study, the Conference Projection Study, the District Study and the Local Church Projection Study.  Each study has a unique and different approach designed to reverse the long standing decline of the church.  This multi-facetted approach addresses deficiencies on differing levels, allowing correctional implementation of findings on the various levels simultaneously.

Strategy

The Church Benchmark Project is taking a comprehensive approach to measuring and understanding the impacts of the changing composition of the denomination at all connectional levels.  Drawing from the strengths and enriched resources of the denomination at the jurisdiction, annual conference, district and local church levels allows for a fully integrated strategy to emerge which encourages growth on the national level.  While information, studies, best practices and ideas are shared among the jurisdictions, annual conferences and districts, the key area of focus is that of the local church.
